Atlanta is home for us, but it also hosts ITW (International Telecoms Week). Florin Seiceanu from our Telecom Team has attended this annual meeting for the global wholesale telecoms industry. 7,000 delegates from 2,000+ companies and more than 135 countries met for some sharing and networking. Pretty impressive, right? Florin told us a bit about the vibe of this year’s event.
1. How did you find the event this year?
This year the location was moved from Chicago to Atlanta, but the positive and energising vibe of the conference was unchanged. With over 7,000 attendees ITW remains the biggest conference for the Telecom Wholesale Industry and probably also the most interesting one.
2. What was your main focus in this event? How did it meet your expectations?
The main focus was to strengthen the relationship with our current providers, to find new opportunities that can help us be even more competitive in the market. Also, to get insights regarding the regional markets evolution and to learn about the new business trends in 2019.
3. Was there any specific speaker/speech that caught your attention? What did you enjoy the most there?
The trend that started last year in regards to 5G technology, continued this year as well and the discussions around this subject are always very interesting. Besides this, the other most popular and interesting topic, which will be powered by 5G technology, was the IOT (Internet of things) & IOMT (Internet of moving things) and the various industries that will benefit from them.Also, the interview with Steve Chen, Co-Founder of YouTube, was really captivating.
