Everything about the hiring process at KeepCalling
Here at KeepCalling we’re always looking to expand our team because we constantly have open positions in some (if not all) of our locations: Romania (Sibiu), Bolivia (Cochabamba), US (Atlanta), and India (Kottayam). Since our teams are so diverse, we are usually looking for new employees from all kinds of fields: IT, Marketing, Finance, Customer Support, and more. In fact, you can always see an updated list of our job openings here.
So, yes, we’re constantly hiring people. The hiring process can sometimes seem pretty mysterious in the case of many companies. But not with us! We want to be as transparent as possible, so that anyone who applies for a job with us will know what they can expect from the start. So, here’s how it goes:
Step 1: Phone interview
After your resume is selected by our HR team, you will be called by one of its very nice team members. They will provide you some general information about the company, the team you could potentially join, and the tools or technologies they use. You’ll also learn more about the job description of the position you applied for.
Then the conversation turns to you, the candidate. We’ll want to start getting to know you, so we’ll ask you some questions about your experience, your previous/current job, and your motivation for applying with us. If everything goes well, you’ll soon be invited to a face-to-face or online interview.
Step 2: Live interview
This is the job interview per se, when you’ll meet your potential team manager together with an HR representative. You’ll find out everything that the job you’ve applied for requires and then you’ll be the star of the show, by talking about your previous experience and answering questions about the specific field of the job.
During the interview, we’ll all try to find out if we are a good fit for each other. So we’ll have a nice, open conversation where everyone will ask and answer questions. The roles of interviewer and interviewee are interchangeable. We’ve been told interviews at KeepCalling can be fun affairs that make time fly by. Yes, we’re known to have chatted with a few candidates for up to 2 hours.
Step 3: Home assignment
A few days after the interview you’ll get a home assignment from us. It will be similar to a task you would have to perform at work, if you were to be hired. By solving this task, you’ll better understand what you would have to do at KeepCalling and we would see a practical application of your knowledge and skills that are specific to this job. Also, depending on the job, we might throw in a personality test.
Step 4: Final discussion
If you’re a good fit for the job following the interview and home assignment, we’ll invite you to come back to our office or join another video call for a final discussion with our HR manager and the director of the department you could be joining. This is a good opportunity to discuss the home assignment, to give or ask for any further clarifications needed, if the case may be, and to assess your match with our company culture. It’s also the “Ask us anything” moment, so make sure you use it wisely!
Step 5: Reference check
This is when we sometimes check two of the references provided in your resume. Once you confirm the contact details, we prefer having a 5-minute chat with the references mentioned, instead of long general recommendation letters.
Step 6: Final answer
Following the previous five steps, we are now ready to give you an answer. It’s either “Congratulations, we want to work with you!” or “Unfortunately we don’t think you’re the right fit for this job”. We always get back with an answer, no matter what the conclusion is. Either way, we highly appreciate your application and getting to know you and if we felt a spark between us we’ll also do our best to remember you for future openings.
So, this pretty much sums up our hiring process. We’re looking forward to hearing from you and embarking on this adventure together!
