Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity 2014
This September brought a new opportunity to mix social causes and great team experience! And that happened thanks to Habitat for Humanity’s project “15 houses, 15 stories, 15 years of Habitat for Humanity”.
Thus, for the third year, 12 KeepCalling employees joined hands and started exploring their building skills, closely supervised by Habitat’s engineers. Why? To help build houses for families in need, that would not afford to build or buy a house otherwise.
The social cause Habitat for Humanity promotes, offering a house to people with difficult financial situations, is also endorsed by KeepCalling, that included Habitat’s projects in its large social responsibility program. Social support, trying to build a better future for those in need is one of the key values KeepCalling advocates and focuses on in its charity program, along with education, sports, animal care, and environment.
Besides the physical help provided by its employees on the construction site, KeepCalling also donated $3.000, that will be used to buy tools and building materials needed on the construction site. KeepCalling’s efforts were appreciated by Habitat: “These were two special days for us, as our guests on the site were for the second year in a row KeepCalling employees. A team of friendly, courageous, hard-working people, that promised to join us again next year” (Genoveva Ghiuri, Resources Development Manager at Habitat for Humanity, Cluj – Romania.
Habitat for Humanity 2013
In 2013, KeepCalling renewed its support for Habitat for Humanity by making a $2000 donation and sending 12 of its employees to work on one of the organization’s construction sites. Between July 25-26, the employees helped build four houses for families in need in Chinteni, a village in the county of Cluj, Romania. The money donation was used to buy materials and tools.
Wearing the full equipment destined for this job, the 12 employees used their building skills and team spirit to work for a good cause: building a home for four of the families chosen to be part of the Habitat social program. Beside the great team experience and charitable work, this event was also an opportunity for KeepCalling employees to work in a different context from the daily one.
The advantages of participating in a Habitat for Humanity project are countless and long lasting both for the house owners and for the construction team. KeepCalling’s employees worked closely with the beneficiaries of the cause and learned their stories. They also understood the stages and the techniques of construction labor.
The satisfaction of working for a good cause, the willingness to invest time and energy, and the possibility of testing their limits were the reasons KeepCalling’s employees were eager to get involved in this challenge. Since this was not KeepCalling’s first partnership with Habitat for Humanity, it will probably not be the last either.
Habitat for Humanity 2011
At the end of May 2011 KeepCalling teamed up with Habitat for Humanity in building a house for a family in need from Beius, Romania.
