Camelia Oprea, Romanian Maths Whizz
This summer KeepCalling donated $1000 to Camelia Oprea, a 10th-grade student in Sibiu, Romania. The amount donated by KeepCalling supported Camelia’s participation in AwesomeMath, a three week Math camp held until August 17th in Santa Cruz, California.
Camelia is a very gifted teenager who has won numerous competitions and is Romania’s no. 1 mathematician in her age group. Camelia’s many medals and excellent results in competitions, as well as the importance of participating in AwesomeMath were more than enough reasons to impress KeepCalling’s Charity Committee.
AwesomeMath is a highly prestigious Math program, gathering 120 outstanding students from all around the world. Talking about her experience in the US, Camelia says, “It was unforgettable to me. I took a huge step forward in terms of my Math knowledge. The things I learned there were new to me, as were the teaching methods employed. Being among the best students there was a challenge.” When asked about KeepCalling’s donation, Camelia said, “I’ll always remember how kind KeepCalling was by helping me participate in AwesomeMath. I am deeply grateful.”
KeepCalling’s donation is a proof of the company’s social policy and interest in education and complements previous charity actions meant to support education under all its forms.
