5 ways to get in a happy mood at work
Just a few more days left from August. Nothing extraordinary, you would say, but did you know that August was declared Happiness Happens Month by the The Secret Society of Happy People (SOHP)? This is all about thinking of all the things that make you happy and sharing the joy with others. Even at work! Yes, you’ve got that right. We’re spending more than half of our day-light time at the office, so it’s pretty much our second home. And there are so many things that could make us happy in our working place as well. Recognising them will really help our daily well being. After a short look around us here at KeepCalling, we’ve found at least 5 ways to get in the happy mood at work:
#1 Getting our morning coffee for a good start of the day!
Everybody at work loves it, it’s a fact, so why not make it official? The taste, the wonderful smell, the sound of that magical liquid streaming in the cup. That’s something that can really get you happy in the morning and get your engines started. And the joy is sharable! Get together with your mates while having those first sips and share the happiness.
#2 Learning something new every day!
Improving our skills on a daily basis with trainings and research can really get us in the happy mood we were talking about. Reading articles about our area of work, getting in touch with people all over the world and their cultures. We get to experience that every day. People are so different, but incredibly alike.
#3 Having lunch on the rooftop with friends
Having a nice stew with a view :). Just kidding, but not about the “view” part. Our kitchen is located on the building’s rooftop, so having snacks and lunch in a cool space with a terrace are great happy mood triggers. Another great part of it is that good company is guaranteed, as our mates are always a reliable source of positive energy.
#4 Working on great projects with professionals
We’re here to grow, and grow together! Great projects and company achievements are making us happy without any doubt. Putting our minds to the test and our abilities as well is challenging and so very rewarding when things are moving in the right direction.
#5 Walking or biking back home knowing you’re making someone else happy
These days we’re walking/biking to work for a good cause. KeepCalling is donating money for each kilometre walked/biked by employees, so we’re leaving work with the thought that we’re making other people happy as well. Because our happiness is worth so much more if shared with others.
Now look around you and see what makes YOU happy at work. Do any of the things above are also among your happy mood triggers? Keep your eyes and mind open and celebrate Happiness now and always.
