2% of KC employees’ income tax went to NGOs
By choosing to redirect 2% of their income tax to NGOs, KeepCalling employees confirm the support that the company constantly offers to local and international organizations. One thing is sure. KeepCalling and the NGOs receiving the 2% contribution have common aims: to support health care and to boost the early education of poor children with the final aim of social integration.
Due to its business orientation towards ethnic groups worldwide, KeepCalling’s personality encourages the support of smaller communities through humanitarian actions.
2014
In 2014, KeepCalling encouraged its employees to donate 2% of their income tax to good causes again. Two of the favored organizations were also found on last year’s list, while the other two are brand new entries among KeepCalling employees’ preferences.
The NGO which received the most donations is SMURD, Romania’s most popular emergency rescue service, followed by Animal Life, a local NGO dedicated to helping stray animals. SMURD was also a top favorite in 2013, while Animal Life makes a new entry this year. SMURD and Animal Life were followed by OvidiuRo, also present on last year’s list, and AIESEC, marking its premiere among KeepCalling’s most appreciated NGOs.
Animal Life is an organization whose volunteers are united by their love for animals and the wish to help them. It was founded in 2006 and its main purposes are finding homes for stray animals and offering medical assistance to animals in danger. Animal Life also promotes the idea of international animal adoptions.
AIESEC is the most popular student organization in the world. It is active in over 114 countries and comprises a number of 83,000 members. AIESEC members are interested in leadership, management, and global issues. The NGO’s vision statement is `Peace and fulfilment of humankind’s potential`.
2013
This year, KeepCalling team in Romania chose to transfer 2% of their income tax to several national wide NGOs. Three of the top preferences were the Red Cross, SMURD (a popular emergency rescue service) and OvidiuRo, the humanitarian organization whose mission is to support early education. The 2% income tax “donation” is a citizen’s simplest way to support a cause.
The initiative taken by KeepCalling employees is part of a complex program aiming to support NGOs that bring real value and generous benefits, regarding formal or informal education, environmental protection, health care or sports. The involvement of the company and its members in social and educational actions is closely bound to KeepCalling’s motto: “Give something back to the community.”
Top of the NGO list was SMURD. The organization is independent and highly active, plus it is politically neutral, three aspects which match an ideal way of doing things. Moreover, the importance and impact of such a public service are extraordinary. The constant need to have it active in the community is confirmed on daily basis.
As for the Red Cross in Romania, it was KeepCalling members’ turn to support it now, after the company had contributed in 2010 to the effort of the international Red Cross team in helping the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
KeepCalling team also turned their attention towards OvidiuRo. The connection with this early education supporter has already been established in 2012 by the company itself, when KeepCalling contributed to the program “Every child in preschool” (“Fiecare copil in gradinita”) by donating $3000.
